We are motivated by the desire to provide a decisive response to the food insecurity and extreme rural poverty that prevails in our country and throughout sub-Saharan Africa.
The constraints to the development of tropical agriculture are known. Technological solutions to overcome them exist and have already been proven elsewhere in similar pedoclimatic conditions and on hundreds of millions of hectares. The most advanced agricultural techniques can be transferred there through adaptive research.
We believe that neither the poor conditions of road and energy infrastructures, nor regulatory or administrative constraints should constitute a reason for doing nothing.
We created COMAGRI SA so that it could be a revolutionizing agent for African agriculture, in response to the warning cry launched by René Dumont in his book "False start in Africa" published as “L’Afrique noire est mal partie” in 1962.
More than sixty years after the publication of this book, all analysts and experts agree in recognizing the backwardness of agriculture on this continent.
The Cameroon Agribusiness Project business model of which we are the owners was designed with the aim of overcoming simultaneously all the obstacles related to food security, rural poverty, unemployment and the environment.
Although conceived in the Cameroonian context, this Project is transferable in all the CEMAC countries in particular and in many countries of sub-Saharan Africa in general. Its business model, the result of 22 years of gestation, is ready to face all the challenges limiting an influx of agricultural investments in Africa.
